From June 15th to 21st, the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) received the 39th delegation of “China Political and Economic Forum” led by Yoshifumi Hibako, former Chief of Staff of Japan Ground Self-Defense Force that visited China. The two sides reached a consensus on the efforts to promote bilateral friendship through non-governmental channels and agreed to play active roles in improving and developing Sino-Japanese relations. During the delegation’s stay in Beijing, Chang Wanquan, member of the Central Military Commission and Minister of theDefence Ministry, met with the delegation with other Chinese military leaders; Chinese experts and scholars had a seminar with the Japanese guests on Sino-Japanese relations and regional security issues in Northeast Asia. The delegation also visited Suzhou andShanghai.
