Yang Jiechi Meets with All Representatives of the 5th Member Congress of the CAIFC

On May 31st, Yang Jiechi, a state councilor and director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with all the representatives of the 1st session of the 5th Member Congress and the Council of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and made a speech.

Yang Jiechicongratulated on the convening of the meeting and extended warm greetings to those who have been committed to civil diplomacy for a long term. He indicated that the CAIFC has fully served as an envoy ofcivil friendship and a bridge for cultural exchanges and economic cooperation and has made great contributions to the national development andoverall diplomacy since it was founded more than 30 years ago. He hoped that the CAIFC could further implement the spirit of the speeches by the General Secretary Xi Jinping and the diplomatic philosophy of China as a great power, stick to the development direction of holding high the banner, working around the center and serving for the big picture, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the friendship of world people and the realization of the goal of “two one-hundred years” and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
