Vice-chairman Xin Qi Meets with Guests from Thailand

On March 1st, Xin Qi, vice chairman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with a delegation led by Cai Baishan, vice president and secretary general of Thai-Sino Cultural and Economic Association (TCEA), in Beijing.

Vice-chairman Xin pointed out that the TCEA has always been committed to Sino-Thai friendship and strongly promoted bilateral pragmatic cooperation under the leadership of General Chavalit, former Prime Minister, and former Deputy Prime Minister Somkid of Thailand. He further noted that this year is the first year of the “13th Five-year Plan” of China and a year for cooperation between China and countries along the Silk Route in constructing the “One Belt One Road”. He hoped that the CAIFC and the TCEA could play their respective advantages and work closely with each other to play their due role in the construction of “One Belt One Road”.

Vice-president Cai thanked the Chinese government and people for their long-term assistance to the economic and social development of Thailand and appreciated the CAIFC for bridging the non-governmental friendly exchanges between Thai and Chinese peoples. He said that he would like to deepen the cooperation between the two organizations to facilitate the friendly relations between the two peoples.

Zhou Xinzheng, deputy secretary general of the CAIFC, was present at the meeting.
