On November 17th, the Final of the 17th “Agon Shu Kiriyama Cup” of Chinese Weiqi and Blitz Game, co-hosted by the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) and the Chinese Chess Association and sponsored by the Agon Shu from Japan, came to a successful conclusion in Taiyuan, Shanxi. Huang Yunsong, a professional Level-4 chess player, got the champion. Zhou Xinzheng, deputy secretary general of the CAIFC, attended the awarding ceremony and delivered a speech.
The “Agon Shu Kiriyama Cup” was launched and exclusively sponsored by Seiyu Kiriyama, founder of the Agon Shu, in 1999. It is held concurrently in China and Japan and now has become one of the largest and most important weiqi and blitz games in the two countries. This game plays a positive role in promoting the exchanges and cooperation in the weiqi circles and in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
