On November 12th, Zhao Bo, vice chairman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with a social practice delegation named “Chinese Classes for Civil Servants of Thai Government” led by Nikhom, vice president of Thailand-China Cultural and Economic Association and former chairman of the House of Lords of Thailand, in Beijing.
Vice-chairman Zhao spoke highly of the long-term positive efforts that the Thailand-China Cultural and Economic Association has made to promote non-governmental friendly exchanges between China and Thailand and hoped that the two organizations to play their respective advantages and strengthen pragmatic cooperation to make new contributions to the development of bilateral friendly relations. Vice-chairman Zhao also briefed the Thai guests about the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC in response to the inquiry of the Thai guests. Vice-president Nikhom thanked the Chinese government for its selfless help for the economic and social development of Thailand and said that his organization would like to maintain close cooperation with the CAIFC and constantly enhance friendship between the two peoples.
The Center for Peace and Development Studies of the CAIFC also organized experts and members of the class to discuss on such topics as China’s peripheral foreign policy, the strategic vision of “One Belt One Road” and China-ASEAN economic cooperation.
Secretary-general Li Haoyu and Deputy Secretary-general Zhou Xinzheng of CAIFC and Wang Xiaowei, director of the Center for Peace and Development Studies, attended the related activities.
