From September 19th to 26th, Deng Rong, vice chairwoman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), led a delegation to visit Russia and attended the 10th plenary session of the Committee of China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development and the first Euro-Asian Women’s Forum.
From September 19th to 23rd, the 10th plenary session of the Committee of China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development was held in Moscow, and nearly 150 people, including leaders of the Committee from both sides and council representatives, attended the session. Dvorkovych, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government, delivered the opening speech, and Dai Bingguo, Chinese chairman of the Committee, and his Russian counterpart Titov delivered keynote speeches, respectively. As the Chinese vice chairwoman of the Committee, Deng Rong read a congratulatory letter from Chairman Xi. From September 24th to 25th, the first Euro-Asian Women’s Forum jointly held by the Russian Federation Council and the CIS inter-Parliamentary Assembly was held in St. Petersburg, and nearly 400 people, including politicians and civil society representatives from 80 countries of the world, attended the forum. Vice-chairwoman Deng attended on behalf of China, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony and received a “Social Praise Award” in recognition of her contributions to make promoting the career development of women and non-governmental exchanges between China and Russia. During the stay in Russia, Vice-chairwoman Deng met with Matviyenko, Chairman of the Russian Federation Committee and Naryshkin, Duma Chairman, talking candidly with them on the deepening of the development of bilateral relations and on promoting pragmatic cooperation and frank exchanges in various fields. They also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues.
