CAIFC Secretary-general Meets with Japanese Guests

On September 11th, Li Haoyu, secretary general of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with the delegation of Japan-China Friendship Association in Kanto, Japan. The two sides exchanged views on the future cooperation and agreed that the two organizations should work together to continue to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Secretary-general Li also briefed the guests about the purpose and significance of the celebration of 70th Anniversary of Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War Victory. He said that we must never forget history and the war. We commemorated the war to oppose and stop the war and to recall painful memories of that period of history and learn from it; we remembered history to cherish and maintain peace and to evoke every kind man's yearning for peace. Taro Takeyosi, vice president of Japan-China Friendship Association in Kanto, said that the commemoration event of China was significant and influential and he believed that China would play a bigger role in maintain the world peace and human well-being as an important force to safeguard world peace.

During the stay in China, the Japanese guests visited Beijing and Chengde.
