At the invitation of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), the fourth group of Hawaii retired general delegation, led by Admiral Thomas ? Fargo, former commander of the United States Pacific Command, visited Beijing, Sichuan and Shanghai from November 21 to 29.
Li Jinai, Member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the General Political Department, and Cui Tiankai, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, separately met with Fargo and his party in Beijing. The delegation visited the training center of China International Peacekeeping Police, Beijing Military Region 6th armored division, the PLA Military Museum and other units, and had a talk with our experts. In Sichuan, the delegation visited Beichuan Earthquake Museum, the new Beichuan county seat, and the library of Jiangyou Yongsheng elementary school which was built with the help of the CAIFC. Lan Jin, Deputy Secretary-General of Mianyang government met with the delegation and hosted a banquet for them. Liu Lunxian, the former Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal People＇s Congress and Vice-Chairman of the Shanghai Association for International Friendly Contact (SAIFC), met with the guests and welcomed them with a banquet in Shanghai.
