On the evening of May 19th, Chairman Li Zhaoxing of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) met with and entertained General Furusho Koichi, previous chief of staff of Marine Self-defense Force and other five members of the 32th “Chinese Politics & Economy Forum” to visit China in Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Vice Chairman Shen Weiping and Executive Vice Secretary General Chen Jun also met with them.
Chairman Li of the CAIFC recalled his meeting with guests in Tokyo last year pleasantly and extended his warm welcome to the guests and introduced the present situation of economy in China and social development to the guests. The leader of the delegation Ito highly evaluated the exchanges in the security field long since the cooperation between “Chinese Politics & Economy Forum” and the CAIFC, and he expressed that he treasured this visit to China and witnessed the changes in the development of China. They exchanged ideas on issues including history, education, environment and society frankly and easily.
