CAIFC Holds China-Japan Friendship Tree Planting Activity

At the invitation of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), 27 consultants of the Japanese Agon Shu including consultant MatsumotoTeruomi visited China from April 10th to 17th, 2009. Vice Chairman of the CAIFC, Li Xiaohua met with and entertained the delegation. The guests visited the vice chief of the State Administration for Religious Affairs, Jiang Jianyong and held the “China-Japan Prayer for the World Peace Meeting” and “China-Japan Buddhist Tree Planting Activity” jointly with Beijing Lingguang Temple of the Chinese Buddhist Association as well as visited the White Cloud Temple and Fayuan Temple. The main contents of “China-Japan Prayer for the World Peace Meeting” included maintaining world peace, wishing bliss of people, a harmonious society and happiness of the family and enhancing the China-Japan friendliness. Over 100 people, Secretary General of the CAIFC Chen Jun, Vice Secretary General of the Chinese Buddhist Association Chen Wenyao and the Buddhist Abbot of Beijing Lingguang Temple Master Chang Zang included attended the activity. The meeting and tree planting activity further strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between Buddhist circles of China and Japan, contributing to the world peace and lasting friendliness between China and Japan.
