CAIFC Organizes Tour to Japan to Hold “Seminar on the Security Issue of Northeast Asia”

From March 22nd to 28th, 2009, the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) organized and appointed the delegation led by the Professor Zhu Feng of the College of International Relations of Beijing University and consisting of other 11 members of experts in security from National Defense University, Academy of military Science, Beijing University, Party History Research Centre, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and Center For Japanese Studies of Shanghai Jiaotong University to visit Japan.

The Delegation attended the 9th “Seminar on China-Japan Security Issue of Northeast Asia” held by the CAIFC and Japanese Sasakawa Peace Finance Group and visited the Japan Ministry of Defense after the seminar, having a discuss with the officials of the Ministry on the regional hot topics.

The delegation also visited the Chairman of the Japan Finance Group Yohei Sasakawa. Chairman Yohei Sasakawa extended his happiness for the achievements of the seminar and expressed his hope for more practical exchanges and cooperation on such issues as cracking down on pirates jointly between China and Japan in the future.
