About the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC)

The CAIFC consists of the General Assembly, the Council, the Standing Council and several functional departments. The offices of major leaders of the CAIFC are filled by former State leaders, while consultants of the Board of Directors are made up of celebrities and social elites in different fields.

Committed to “promoting international people-to-people friendly exchanges and cooperation, and enhancing world peace and development,” the CAIFC serves national diplomacy and plays an active role in interacting with the world as a messenger of people-to-people friendship and a bridge of economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges. It has developed friendly and cooperative relations with more than 70 countries and regions, has promoted cooperation and exchanges in multiple fields through multiple channels and at multiple levels, and consolidated the social foundation for friendship with China.

The CAIFC makes steady efforts to strengthen top-level contacts with major countries and regions and establishes friendly ties with foreign government agencies, political parties and prominent political and military figures. It also holds top-level dialogues in different fields to enhance mutual understanding and trust and make positive contributions to promoting friendship and cooperation.

The CAIFC promotes China’s reform and opening up and economic development, publicizes China’s reform and opening-up policies, introduces China’s achievements and experience in developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, helps the country absorb foreign investment, technology and management experience, and serves as a bond to promote economic cooperation between China and the world.

The CAIFC carries out extensive international people-to-people cooperation and exchanges, and establishes extensive ties with foreign organizations and individuals related to culture, education, media, arts, and religion. It also sponsors a wide variety of activities, such as observation tours, cultural exhibitions and theatrical performances in China and abroad to establish the image of China as a friendly country, tell stories about China, make Chinese voices heard, bring traditional Chinese culture and contemporary values to the world, and build a bridge for mutual learning between world civilizations.

The CAIFC also conducts studies of and academic exchanges in major global strategic issues. Its Center for Peace and Development Studies works with leading foreign think tanks and academic institutions. It also hosts and participates in international forums, strategic dialogues and workshops on international issues. It publishes the bimonthly international political journal Peace and Development and plays the role of a new-type think tank in serving China’s reform and opening up and contributing to world peace and development.

The CAIFC enjoys strong support from the Chinese Government and all sectors of society. Party and State leaders meet with foreign guests invited by the CAIFC. The central and local governments offer substantial support to the exchange activities conducted by the CAIFC.

In the new era, the CAIFC rallies closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core; follows the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; implements Xi Jinping’s diplomatic thoughts; adheres to the holistic approach to national security; enhances the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, thinks in terms of the bigpicture, upholds the leadership core, and keeps in alignment; strengthens confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics; enhances the efforts to uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's position as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the whole Party, as well as the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership; focuses on meeting overall goals; strengthens reform and innovation; pays close attention to implementation; and contributes to the realization of the Two Centenary Goals and the Chinese Dream of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
