On April 21st, Xin Qi, vice chairman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with a delegation of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) led by its director-general Chipman, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Both sides communicated on Sino-British relations and strengthened cooperation and exchanges between the two organizations. Both sides agreed that China and Britain share many common interests, have highly complementary advantages, and broad cooperation prospects. The bilateral relations between the two countries are entering a “golden age” and will set an example for China’s relations with the West. The CAIFC and the IISS should strengthen exchanges and cooperation and make more positive contributions to promoting mutual understanding and trust between China and the West. Zhou Xinzheng, deputy secretary general of the CAIFC, attended the meeting.
