On December 17th-18th, the 2018 awards ceremony of the “Education Fund” and “Teacher Award Scholarship” established by Agon Shu, a partner of China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), in Peking University and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) was held in Beijing. Xin Qi, Vice President of CAIFC; Hao Ping, CAIFC adviser and President of Peking University; Yan Guohua, Vice President of BFSU, met with Shi Xuejun, the Director of the Chinese Affairs Bureau of Agon Shu and his colleagues, and exchanged views on deepening exchanges and cooperation in liberal education and promoting the stable development of Sino-Japanese relations in the new era. Zhao Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of CAIFC; Li Yuning, Secretary-General of Peking University Education Foundation; Song Jinwen, Deputy Director of Beijing Center for Japanese Studies of BFSU, and others attended the event. The relevant leaders of China and Japan awarded certificates to 32 outstanding young teachers and students.
Agon Shu, a well-known Buddhist group in Japan with extensive social influence, has been actively promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan in the fields of culture, education, sports, and Buddhism over the years and plays a positive role in improving the China-Japan relations and deepening the people-to-people exchanges.
