On February 11, Mr. Xin Qi, Vice President of China Association for International Friendly Contact(CAIFC) led a delegation to visit Japanand attended the 45th Agon Shu’s Hoshi Matsuri. Personnel from China State Administration for Religious Affairs, China Buddhist Administration, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Sun Yat-sen University were present. Hoshi Matsuri is the largest annual Agon Shu star and fire rites festival, which is held in Yamashina-Ku, Kyoto every year with over 500,000 people participating. It is quite influential and has been identified as a regular large rites festival by the Kyoto city government. During the visit, the delegation met with Mr. Naoko Wada Chairman of Agon Shu. They had an in-depth discussion on strengthening bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the future and promoting further development of China-Japan relations.
