From June 18th to 24th, the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) received the 40th delegation of the Forum on China’s Politics and Economy of Japan led by Sugimoto Masahiko, former Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force,in China. Yi Xian and Xin Qi, vice chairmen of the CAIFC, met with the delegation and invited them to a banquet. During the stay of the delegation in Beijing, “China-Japan Northeast Asia Security Forum 2017” was held at which some senior Chinese retired generals and experts discussed issues such as Sino-Japanese relations and regional security with the Japanese guests.
The delegation also visited Shijiazhuang and Shanghai. During the stay in Shanghai, the delegation exchanged views with Prof. Zhang Weiwei, Dean of the China Institute of Fudan University, on China’s development.
