On May 13th, Xin Qi, vice-chairman of China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with a delegation of The Daily Mail led by President MakhdoomBaabar from Pakistan, in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Vice-chairman Xin spoke highly of the positive efforts that PresidentBaabar and the newspaper have made to promote the friendly exchanges and enhance the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan. He hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and to expand cultural exchanges between the two countries.Theguests briefly introduced the plan and measures taken to release the promotional series report under the theme of “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” and expressed the intention to deepen cooperation with the CAIFC to make more contributions to the Sino-Pakistan friendship. The two sides also exchanged views on international hot issues. QuanYueming,a standing council memberof the CAIFC, and Hu Aijun, vice-chairman of Xinjiang Association for International Friendly Contact, were also present at the meeting.
The Daily Mail was founded by President Baabar in 2000 asa mainstream English newspaper in Pakistan and has been committed to introducing China to the Pakistani people and the international communityover the years. The delegation visited to report the “Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation” and exchanged views with Tsinghua University International Center for Communication and the Silk Road Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University under the organization of the CAIFC.
