From October 14th to 16th, Zhou Xinzheng, deputy secretary general of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), led a delegation to visit Riga, capital of Latvia, for the International Conference of Industrial Entrepreneurs Union. More than 110 representatives of business circles from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Central and Eastern European countries attended the conference to have in-depth discussions over the development of modern agriculture and Eurasian cooperation and re-elect the members of the Union. At the conference, the CAIFC delegation read a congratulatory letter written by Chairman Li Zhaoxing and delivered a keynote speech named “Development of Modern Agriculture in China and Its Cooperation with the EU”, which aroused positive response from the audience. During the conference, the delegation had a working discussion with Grubich, President of the Union, and both sides exchanged views on deepening bilateral pragmatic cooperation.
Chen Xiaodong, a council member of the CAIFC, and Kong Xiangzhi, a professor of Renmin University of China, were members of the delegation for the visit.
