On August 19th, Xin Qi, vice-chairman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), met with a delegation led by Myocho Hayashima, President of Japanese Taoist Association and deputy Taoist abbot of Japanese Taoist Temple, in Beijing. Both sides had an in-depth talk over the religious and cultural exchanges between China and Japan and the cooperation between the two organizations.
Vice-chairman Xin expressed appreciation and admiration for the long-term commitment of Myocho Hayashima to the China-Japan friendship. He believed that the philosophy of Taoism, especially represented by the idea of harmony between man and nature, helps purify the human mind, correct the values orientation, and construct modern harmonious society. Myocho Hayashima thanked Vice-chairman Xin for sparing time to meet with them and said that he will continue to strengthen cooperation with the CAIFC in carrying out Japanese-Chinese cultural exchanges, spreading Taoism in Japan, and introducing about China objectively to make more contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
