On September 16th, 2013, the Final of the 15th “Agon Shu Kiriyama Cup” of Chinese Weiqi and Blitz Game, co-hosted by the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) and the Chinese Chess Association and sponsored by the Agon Shu from Japan, came to a successful conclusion in Changchun, Jilin. The players in this final were all the generation after the 1980s and Lian Xiao, a Grade-Four player, won the final championship against Fan Tingyu, a Grade-Nine player, at the closing stage. Shen Weiping, vice-chairman of the CAIFC, attended this event and presented awards to the winners. Vice-chairman Shen said that he was glad to find that there are qualified successors for the Chinese Weiqi and that the game is thriving. He spoke highly of this event for it promoted the Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges and he indicated that the CAIFC would continue to provide its support for this event. Hua Yigang, vice-chairman of the Chinese Chess Association, and Shi Bokang, director of Chinese Affair Bureau of Agon Shu, as well as officers from Sports Bureau of Jilin Province.
