Shao Hongwei, director of the Executive Office of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), led a delegation to pay a friendly visit to Japan from August 14th to 20th. During their stay in Japan, the delegation met with Japanese parliament members, members of the “Chinese Politics & Economy Forum” (CPEF) and other figures from the political and defense circles. The two sides exchanged their views on the long-term development of Sino-Japanese relations and future exchanges. The delegation also attended the grand Obon Festival hosted by Agon Shu in Kyoto and carried out friendly exchanges with the Japanese-Chinese Friendly Exchange Association and Japanese-Chinese Association of Peace and Friendship. The delegation was composed of the relevant responsible persons from the branches of the CAIFC in Shenyang, Beijing, Gansu, Xinjiang, Dalian, Qingdao, etc.
