From May 24th to 26th, Japanese Finance Group appointed staff responsible for the aiding people in disaster-hit area to Chengdu and Dujiang Dam, Sichuan for investigating the reconstruction of the disaster-hit area. The China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) assisted the investigation.
The Japanese party made the investigation to learn the needs of disaster-hit area and provided the ground for the well-targeted aids and exchanges. Principal of the finance group for the aiding project, Mr. Akira Kurosawa and Ms.Yoshikata Hiromi and Yu Zhan, Chief of the Office of the Sasakawa China-Japan Friendly Foundation investigated “Thrifty Family” settlers for victims and street tents in Dujiang Dam and Loving Care University in disaster area like Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, listened to Dujiang Dam Municipal Bureau for Urban Planning leaders’ introduction to the future reconstruction plan as well as introduced the medical team for medical assistance. Director of Chengdu Standing Committee of the NPC Wang Dongzhou and director of Chengdu Foreign Affairs Office Qiu Haiming met with the investigation team and introduced the situation to them. The guests expressed that the rapid and efficient movement for fighting disaster and settling the victims of Chinese government and the optimistic and aspirational spirits of the victims were quite impressive. After they returned to Japan, they reported the situation to the finance group promptly and provide the assistance for the reconstruction of the disaster area as possible as they can. In the next year, they would include the exchange program with the CAIFC themed the fighting disaster and reliving the victims in the exchange plan.
